With three lakes and flowers arising from flat memorial, the rolling hills of Forest Lawn look more like extensive gardens than a cemetery. Forest Lawn Memorial Park was established in 1932 and located in Erlanger, KY, which is 5 miles south of Cincinnati. Forest Lawn is nestled into the rolling hills of Northern Kentucky. The 46 acre cemetery has such a garden or park-like landscape that many people do not know they have entered a cemetery until they see the memorials. All memorials at Forest Lawn are flush to the ground which helps preserve the garden type appearance. Our Cemetery has a quaint lake between the two entrances with a large fountain. Some of the trees that surround the lake are original to the property when the pre-civil war home was built The office is located in a stately colonial style two story house built in the 1840’s, referred to as “The Mansion on the Hill,” in John Uri Lloyd’s famous Book Stringtown on the Pike, it has also served as summer estate, restaurant and home throughout the years. The Administration office is a pre-civil war home which sits on top of the hill overlooking the small lake and the Gated entrances to the cemetery. Every Easter since 1945 a community sunrise service is held. The annual VFW Elsmere/Erlanger Memorial Day Parade ends with services at Forest Lawn. We offer all aspects of burial – cremation, lawn crypts, mausoleums and traditional burial. |
