Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens began in 1939 when some of the best farmland outside the small town of Sherrard became a cemetery. Halcyon means ‘calm and tranquil’, and if the words ‘breathtakingly beautiful’ are added, you arrive at a perfect description for this Memorial Park.

Standing outside the Mausoleum high atop the hill, you can literally see miles of West Virginia stretching out before you. No less stunning is the view one gets upon entering the Mausoleum. The special touches which help create the perfect setting for quiet moments of reflection are walls of cream and bronze marble, comfortable upholstered furniture on carpeted floors, and cathedral ceilings with elaborate crystal chandeliers. The Mausoleum provides a welcoming place for families to reminisce in all types of weather.

Surrounding the Mausoleum, and completing the picture of tranquility, are eight well kept gardens for traditional burial. To provide families with additional burial options, there are pre-installed lawn crypts and several Sarcophagi available within the cemetery.

Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens is a full service cemetery staffed with compassionate professionals. We offer a variety of arrangements to families for either traditional or cremation burials.
