Hamilton County Memorial Park

Hamilton County Memorial Park was founded in 1946 under the original name, “Beautiful Dallas Memorial Park.” W.O. Nelson established the park when he disinterred his mother from a nearby church cemetery and re-interred her as his first burial. The Nelson Family Estate is marked with the cross and angel memorial that is visible upon entering the gates. With the creation of the cemetery, Mr. Nelson developed the first family estates and “shared monuments” in the Hixson area.

Paradise Garden has some of the largest and most beautiful memorials in this area. Mr. Nelson was unable to complete his plans before his death, so Hamilton County has remained a hidden gem since the early 1980s. The six developed gardens that Mr. Nelson was able complete offer a wide choice of memorial options. Future plans include a garden mausoleum, a new office, and further garden development. Resplendent in beauty, while still maintaining the intimacy of a family-orientated cemetery, Hamilton County Memorial Park still shines as brightly as ever.
