Sunset Memorial Park opened in the summer of 1925. This cemetery is traditionally an upright monument park. We offer traditional ground burial and above ground Mausoleum Entombment. We also have Lawn Crypts and columbarium sections for cremations. There are many notable Kanawha Valley people buried here, including Watt Powell a Charleston Business man which Watt Powell Baseball park was named after, also Herbert J. Thomas a Congressional Medal of Honor winner, which Herbert J. Thomas Hospital was named after. We serve people from all walks of life in this cemetery.
