Westminster Cemetery is located in Carlisle, Pa., approximately 20 miles southwest of Harrisburg. Dr. Frederic M. Lawrence incorporated the “old” part of the cemetery in 1917, and by 1960, Westminster Memorial Gardens was established. There are approximately 40 developed acres of land. On Memorial Day weekend of 1999, we held the grand opening of our Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. We also provide a flower program, as well as a pet cemetery, so that you can be close to your faithful pets.

We have several burials of interest, including Sgt. 1st Class Randall D. Shughart, who was killed on Oct. 3, 1993, while serving as a sniper team member of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command with Task Force Ranger in Mogadishu, Somalia. The events of his death were depicted in the movie, “Black Hawk Down.” He was buried Oct. 18, 1993. We are one of the largest cemeteries in Carlisle, Pa., and are able to accommodate all faiths and their personal burial wishes.
