Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens was established in 1983. We are located in Moncks Corner, SC. The Francis Marion National Forest is up Alternate17 North. Lake Moultrie is north of Moncks Corner, SC with Bonneau Beach, Richardson Landing and Macbeth all on the lake. Charleston, SC is 30 to 45 minutes south.
The grounds of our cemetery are beautiful and treated with care. There is a road that lies between the Honor Garden, and the Devotion Garden, creating easy access. It circles around the Victory Garden. We also have a Valor Garden. The rest of the acreage of the cemetery scenic woods. The Masonic Garden lies beside the Honor Garden and extends to meet the Lawn crypts. We also have a Baby Garden which is called the Garden of Angels.
There are two mausoleums built. One is constructed for the tandem spaces. We like to call them True Companion, as 2 caskets will fit in the space. The other mausoleum has 10 tandem with the Niches on the other side. The rest of the building is made up of single spaces. We have a bench on each side of the building. The benches were bought by families to sit and reflect about their passed loved ones.
The Devotion Garden has a new weeping willow tree.
The Honor Garden is where we hold our Memorial Day service each year. The VFW Post 10256 in Goose Creek hosts the event. Whispering Pines provides the tent, chairs, water, and electricity for the event. A new speaker is chosen each year from the 5 Armed Services. Bulletins are printed, courtesy of Kenneth A Wallace.
